3/11/21: Christmas Fayre Covid-19 procedure statement

COVID-19 SAFETY

The safety of our staff, volunteers, contractors, stall holders, and visitors is paramount. We are working closely with our Health and Safety advisors, and we are committed to taking all necessary measures to mitigate the risk of COVID-19 transmission wherever practicable.

BEFORE YOU ARRIVE AT THE FAYRE

We recommend everyone attending the Christmas Fayre carries out a Lateral Flow Test within 24 hours prior to their arrival at the Fayre. If you test positive for Covid, have Covid symptoms or someone in your household has Covid, please do not come to the Fayre and remain at home. You can find details about how to order a FREE Lateral Flow Test here: https://www.gov.uk/order-coronavirus-rapid-lateral-flow-tests

FACE COVERINGS

The Christmas Fayre will be mask friendly and we are advising everyone, unless exempt, to wear a face mask whilst in indoor settings, such as the Santa’s Grotto in The Venue.

SOCIAL DISTANCING

All attendees to the Fayre are encouraged to give each other space. We are an outdoor event and have the luxury of lots of space to social distance. We have rearranged the Fayre layout and allocated more space to the communal areas that usually attract high levels of traffic, such as catering areas.

VENTILATION

The Venue, on Hill Street will be well ventilated with a fresh air ventilation system.

CLEANING

There will be increased cleaning regimes in place for toilets.

HAND SANITISERS

Hand sanitiser stations will be present throughout the event. Stall holders and visitors will be encouraged to sanitise.

SIGNAGE

There will be signage throughout the event to communicate all measures and restrictions applicable at the time.

All attendees must agree NOT to attend if they answer YES to any of the following questions:

  • Do you have cause to believe that you have COVID-19?
  • Are you awaiting a PCR test result?
  • Are you feeling unwell?
  • Do you have a high temperature, a new continuous cough, a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste?
  • Are you currently required to isolate following a visit to an area or country where quarantine is required upon return?
  • Have you been told to self-isolate by a government test and trace service?
  • Is anyone in your household suffering from COVID-19 symptoms
  • Have you been in close contact with anyone who has COVID-19 or anyone who has been showing symptoms?

We will continue to monitor the situation and review the guidance in the lead up to the event. Please note that guidance may change nearer the event and we may have to adapt our policy.
