Competition winners winter wellbeing

Lucky winner of wellbeing giveaway announced

The Ross-on-Wye Town Council Winter Wellbeing Giveaway, which ran in conjunction with the Ross Business Association’s Christmas giveaway, announced its winner this week. Teresa Ruddle from Binfield in Berkshire received the good news by phone and was extremely shocked at first but then delighted to have won.

Hundreds of entries were received in the month up to Christmas Eve and her name was drawn in the new year from the combined entries of the RBA’s giveaway and those entering on the town council’s social media pages.

Teresa decided to treat her friend Sue, after they had both visited Ross-on-Wye in November to do some Christmas shopping with their husbands. During their shopping trip, Teresa entered the competition after purchasing a coat at Suzy’C on Broad Street and her entry was then chosen from at random in January.

The wellbeing prize included a night’s stay at The King’s Head Hotel Ross on Wye, spa treatments for two at Wye Valley Massage Therapies, dinner for two at Avellino Italian restaurant plus a hamper of wellbeing gifts including a St. Eval Geranium candle from Lizzie Bunting, Everyday Wellness book from Rossiter Books, French vegan handmade poppy soap from Crowsfeet, a pot of spring flowers from Designer Flowers on Gloucester Road, lavender Epsom salts, healthy organic Clipper Teas & Equinox Kombucha drink from Field Fayre – The Organic Store.

The ladies extended their stay an extra night to enjoy a mini break, visiting lots of our local independent shops and cafés and taking in the beautiful riverside. Teresa said that it was just what they both needed to recharge their batteries and will definitely be back for another visit soon.
