Bike pump installed in town centre thanks to cycling club

The Ross-on-Wye & District Cycling Club have kindly donated a bike pump to the town using funds they have raised through their members and events.

The Club approached Ross-on-Wye Town Council in April 2023 wanting to give something back to the town. Funds had been raised through subscriptions and events, and following a survey of members on how to spend the funds it was decided to donate a bike pump for installation in the town.

The Town Council applied for a licence from Herefordshire Council for the placement of the pump, and once this was granted it was installed next to the flower bed on Gloucester Road. The pump is now ready to use for all.

Ross-on-Wye Town Council’s Operations Manager, Duncan Rowe, said: “The bicycle pump is a great community asset and we thank the club for their kind donation to the town.”

Richard Wilson, the Treasurer for the Ross-on-Wye & District Cycling Club said: “Ross-on Wye and District Cycling Club is very pleased to donate a bike pump to the town. We hope that it will get a great deal of use, not only by people who live in Ross, but also by the many cyclists who pass through.”
