Equinox Festival 2022

24 September 2022 @ 12:00 pm - 9:00 pm

A one-day free community wellbeing and world music event on Saturday 24 September 2022 from midday at the Bandstand in Ross-on-Wye. The event runs alongside The Walking Festival (23-25 September – walkinginross.co.uk), and will promote health and wellbeing activities available in and around Ross-on-Wye.

World music programme: the exciting line up currently includes the talented musician and percussionist, Jon Sterckx, who will be running a kashaka percussion workshop and performing a tabla set on stage after the festival is officially opened by the Border Belles. Later in the afternoon, the Omar Puente Sextet will transport you to Havana with their Cuban Buena Vista style music so grab a drink and a dance partner and get in the spirit with their incredible Cuban sounds. Enjoy a cocktail or beer and some street food from one of our onsite vendors, to the background of chilled sundowner music from dr trippy, with his unique ambient Indian vocal DJ set (sometimes referred to as Punjabi swamp music). Finishing off the evening will be Transglobal Underground – featuring Sheema Mukherjee who appeared as a solo artist at last year’s Equinox Festival. Sheema is one of the five strong members of this unique Asian-African fusion techno group – they are currently touring the UK with their latest album so expect the unexpected and a lively, vibrant end to the day.
