Upcoming night-time works for A449

Road closed and diversion sign

Balfour Beatty Living Places (BBLP) are due to commence works on the A449 Ledbury Road, near the Travellers Rest roundabout, where they will be clearing vegetation and re-painting the white lines on the road.

Works will be taking place under a full road closure, starting on Monday 24th October 2022 to (and including) Thursday 27th October 2022. The road will be closed between 8pm and 6am each night.

The fully signed diversion route for non-motoway traffic will be via the A449 Old Gore / B4224 Upton Bishop / B4221 Travellers Rest roundabout and vice versa and is attached for your information.

The diversion route for HGVs and large vehicles will be via the A449 Ledbury / A417 Bromsberrow Heath / M50 Travellers Rest roundabout and vice versa, this is also attached for your information.

BBLP will do all we can to assist with access, although there may be periods of time when access to homes, businesses or other premises will not be possible or there may be delays. Help and guidance can be sought from the designated marshals who are on site.

Access will be maintained for the Premier Inn who are within the works area, however there may be times when they are lining across the junction or across the entrance to their car park and there won’t be any access for the short period of time whilst the paint sets. BBLP have contacted the Travellers Rest directly to advise them of this.

The programme of work may change in certain circumstances, such as bad weather. This may happen at short notice and without further notification. All changes will be highlighted on the advance warning signs, which can be found onsite at the roadworks.
