Ross-on-Wye Town Council have confirmed their promise to revive the Ross Carnival,
following strong public interest. The Carnival had been a prominent event in the town’s calendar, being held on the first Saturday of August every year since 1977. The event, which was previously organised by a community group, has not taken place since 2019.

The Council will stick with the tradition of hosting the Carnival on the first Saturday of
August, with the parade going from Ashburton Industrial Estate to Rope Walk.

Cllr Linden Delves, the current Mayor, says: “It’s great to see the Ross Carnival returning.
Events like this are key for bringing people together and remind us why our town has such a
strong sense of community spirit. I’m looking forward to seeing everyone enjoy it again.”

Events such as this are not possible without public support and all individuals interested
in getting involved should email tourism@rosstc-herefordshire.gov.uk regarding the
Carnival’s working group or to lend a hand on the day.
