Town Council Offers Community Mental Health Awareness Week Activities!

Ross-on-Wye Town Council is excited to invite the community to a variety of events during Mental Health Awareness Week, Monday 12th to Sunday 18th May 2025. These activities aim to promote well-being and encourage open discussions about mental health in the community by providing a safe and welcoming spaces for everyone to focus on their mental and emotional well-being.

The events are designed to inspire, support, and encourage individuals of all ages and backgrounds to come together, share experiences, and learn new tools for maintaining positive mental health.

We warmly encourage everyone in the community to attend these events, whether you’re looking for new ways to improve your well-being, meet others, or simply enjoy some time for yourself. Your presence makes a difference, and we look forward to seeing you there!

These activities are aimed towards teenagers are adults, but if you have any questions, please email tourism@rosstc-herefordshire.gov.uk.

Mental Health Awareness Week Activities:

  • Tuesday, 13th
    1:30 – 4:30 pm: Artspace session with Herefordshire Mind at Ross Community Gardens
    Express yourself and explore how creativity can nurture mental well-being. This welcoming art session provides a chance to unwind and connect with others in a relaxed, supportive environment. Whether you’re an experienced artist or a complete beginner, this session is for everyone!
  • Wednesday, 14th
    2:00 pm & 3:30 pm: 2 beginner friendly yoga classes at the Bandstand
    Take part in these rejuvenating yoga sessions, led by Kerry from Phoenix Fit, designed to help reduce stress, improve mental clarity, and encourage relaxation. Suitable for all levels, these classes offer a peaceful space to focus on your mind and body, while connecting with others in the community.
  • Saturday, 17th
    11:00 am – 12:30 pm: 1hr Wellbeing Walk led by Herefordshire Ramblers Association
    Step outside and take a leisurely walk through the beautiful surroundings of Ross-on-Wye. This calming and restorative walk is a fantastic opportunity to connect with nature, meet others, and reflect on your well-being in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere. To join, meet at Homs Road footbridge at 10:45. The walk will end at Ross Community Gardens for people to chat in the Sun and enjoy free refreshments!
