6/6/21: Wilton Sports centre finally reopens

Ross Sports Centre finally opened on Friday 4 June after what can only be described as one of the worst years in its history.

Not only did they suffer devastating flood damage back in February 2020 but a month later, the pandemic kicked in, challenging progress with the building works and testing morale to the limit. Despite this, the team’s incredible community spirit and hard work brought them to this point on Friday – as the sun shone down on the new clubhouse,

Paul Flitney, Director of Ross Sports Centre, said how grateful he was for all the financial support they’d received, including the National Lottery, and how touched he was by the relentless efforts of the volunteers and the team at Vanstone Building & Consultancy.

We wish them huge congratulations for this amazing achievement and all the very best for the future.
