Ross-on-Wye Town Council launches 10-year Strategic Plan

Ross-on-Wye Town Council has launched its new 10-Year Strategic Plan, setting out a clear direction for the future of the town and providing a framework for how the Council will respond to the needs and priorities of the local community.
Town and parish councils sit at the heart of community life, and the Town Council’s new Strategic Plan is designed to ensure that Ross-on-Wye continues to move forward with a clear sense of purpose.
The Strategy sets out the Council’s long-term ambitions for the town and will help the Council move from reacting to issues as they arise towards proactive, forward planning. It will also provide a clear way of demonstrating to residents what the Town Council is working to achieve and the progress being made.
The Strategy has been developed around a number of key principles, including improving working relationships, encouraging an open and reflective culture, strengthening accountability and ensuring that the work of the Town Council remains focused on the needs of the community.
Councillors and officers will use the Strategy as a framework for decision-making, helping to ensure that the Council’s work remains focused on shared goals and delivers meaningful outcomes for Ross-on-Wye.
The Town Council will review progress against the Strategy every six months through the relevant sub-committees. Updates will also be provided at the Annual Town Meeting, giving residents an opportunity to see what progress has been made.
The Strategy itself will be reviewed and approved annually by Full Council, ensuring that it remains relevant and responsive to the changing needs of the town.
The Strategic Plan is intended to be the main way in which the Town Council communicates what it is doing to meet the needs of the community and how its work contributes to its longer-term ambitions.
Residents are invited to read the Strategic Plan and share their views. The Town Council welcomes constructive feedback on the ambitions and priorities contained within the Strategy, as community input will help inform its ongoing development.
