16/2/21: Ross-on-Wye Neighbourhood Development Plan 2021

The Neighbourhood Development Plan was shortlisted for the Royal Town Planning Institute West Midlands for Planning Excellence 2020 Award.  Introducing the entry in a virtual awards ceremony the judges said:  “The Ross-on-Wye Neighbourhood Plan has benefitted from a truly collaborative, creative, innovative and inclusive approach to community engagement, supported by Place Studio.  This is to be applauded.”

Melvin Reynolds, NDP Steering Group Chair, said  “This was a competition dominated by huge, multi-million pound projects so the fact that the judges picked up on the approach taken by Place Studio, our consultants, when working with our small community was remarkable.  We’ve now learned that although our Plan missed the single overall prize for a West Midlands RTPI Award, the W. Midlands group suggested it should be submitted for a national award (where there are several awards in different categories).  That was done and it has been shortlisted for a national Award for Planning Excellence – remarkable news!

The plan can be viewed electronically here.

Until the Referendum now confirmed for May 6th, it is being given “significant weight” in deciding planning applications in Ross.
