Register your defibrillator with The Circuit
6 July 2022

If you’ve got a defibrillator in your workplace, school or local community, register it with The Circuit so that the Ambulance Service know it’s available to help save lives.
The West Midlands Ambulance Service is working in partnership with British Heart Foundation to develop ‘The Circuit’ – the national defibrillator network. This is a ground-breaking national initiative that will give cardiac arrest victims the best chance of survival by linking a national network of defibrillators to every Ambulance Service in the UK.
West Midlands were the first ambulance service to go live with it in June 2019.
The Circuit replaces the previous way of logging defibrillators on the 999 system. They need all defibrillator guardians across the West Midlands to register their defibrillators so that they know where it is in an emergency. It’s quick and easy to do – just make sure you have to hand the following details:
- its location and surroundings
- brand, model and serial number
- times when its available
- pads expiry dates
- confirm it is indicating ready
