This year, Ross-on-Wye Town Council began to restore and update the Town Centre’s cast iron wayfinding posts (pedestrian signage). The posts have been in place for over 3 decades and, previously indicated walking distances in yards, are now outdated with the transformation of the town over recent years. The removed fingers pointed to a number of closed venues and needed updating.

As part of the refurbishment project, a sign will be displayed on the 1st Floor of the recently renovated Market House, in the local art collective and gallery known as Made in Ross.

The remaining 52 signs from phase 1 of the project will be available to the public for purchase at as little as £20 + VAT each. Whether this be for display in a local business or to add to a personal collection, it offers the public an opportunity to have a piece of town’s history. Once purchased, signs will be available for collection from the Council Offices in the Town Hall on Cantilupe Road.

To enquire about available fingers, please email the Council’s Tourism and Events Officer, Ophelia Rajpaul, at tourism@rosstc-herefordshire.gov.uk.
