Crowds gathered for the 2025 Christmas Fayre

Thousands of people visited the Christmas Fayre on Sunday 30th November embracing a day full of festive cheer at the annual celebration organised by Ross-on-Wye Town Council.

Visitors enjoyed browsing over 80 stall holders offering handcrafted gifts, seasonal treats and local produce. Entertainment filled the streets throughout the day with performances from the Border Belles, The Penyard Singers, Ross Town Band, Jodie Lauren Music, Kaylie-Marie McCarroll and talented students from John Kyrle High School. Families were delighted by roaming characters, including mischievous and magical elves and a playful Grinch – who brought laughter without causing too much chaos!

A giant snow globe experience, Santa’s grotto run by AgeUK Wyvern, festive face painting, and children’s activities ensured plenty of magical moments for all ages. The day concluded with the much-anticipated Christmas lights switch-on, led this year by Oliver Slater, who proudly illuminated the Market House and Christmas tree to cheers from the crowd.

Ross-on-Wye Town Council extends heartfelt thanks to event sponsors, Taylor Wimpey, REHAU, Dawleys and HCR Law for their generous support, as well as Ben Abbott – our fantastic compere, AP Stage Solutions, Scaffolding 2000, Community First Responders, Caple Security, Steve Oakey, The Venue, all our performers and street entertainers, our Town crier and Age UK Wyvern. A huge thank you to all the volunteers, stall holders and local shop owners whose enthusiasm and dedication helped make the event a tremendous success.

A special thank you goes to Oliver Slater and his family for taking part in this year’s switch-on ceremony and sharing such a memorable moment with the community.
