The 2025 Easter Market and Bunny Bake- Off in Ross-on-Wye was a delightful celebration of spring, organised by the Ross-on-Wye Town Council. The market, on Easter Saturday in Ross Town Centre, was open from 10am to 4pm and featured everything from handmade jewellery and woodwork to freshly made pies and baked goods.

This year’s Bunny Bake-Off invited bakers of all ages to showcase their skills with a theme of traybakes. Entries were judged by a panel including the Town’s Mayor, Cllr Bev Pope, alongside 2023 Great British Bake-Off contestants Sakunthala Chandrasekara and Tasha Stones, ensuring a high standard of judging.

Winners were announced on the day and were as follows –

1st – Anne Trenwith with ‘Connie’s Carrot Cake’, winning a £30 voucher to Yat Pottery Studio (found on High Street) and a signed copy of the 2023 Great British Bake-Off recipe book!
2nd – Diana Voinea with her ‘Tosca Cake’, winning a £20 voucher to At Broad Street (found on Gloucester Road) a signed copy of the 2023 Great British Bake-Off recipe book!
3rd – Andrew Norledge with his ‘upside down salted caramel, pear & ginger traybake’, winning a Thornton’s egg and a signed copy of the 2023 Great British Bake-Off recipe book!

For those that didn’t get a chance to watch the judging or try an entry, contestant’s recipes will be shared on the Town Council’s website and social media platforms, so you recreate these delicious treats at home!
