Community Speed Watch Scheme looks to increase volunteers

The Community Speed Watch scheme launched in Ross-on-Wye last year with a strong group of volunteers signing up to take part.
The Community Speed Watch is a community driven road safety initiative, coordinated by West Mercia Police but managed and run by volunteers from the community. It involves trained volunteers monitoring speeds of vehicles with approved, hand-held speed measurement devices. Where vehicle speeds are found to be inappropriate, a letter is sent to the registered keeper by the police with the aim of encouraging them to reduce their speed when driving in the future.
The group are looking to increase the number of volunteers taking part in the scheme. If you are interested in joining please email admin@rosstc-herefordshire.gov.uk
