Celebrate the Coronation in style with the Mayor of Ross-on-Wye
6 March 2023

Preparations are well underway for a Coronation Ball to mark the Coronation of King Charles III on May 6th this year. The Mayor of Ross-on-Wye, Cllr Ed O’Driscoll, will be hosting the event at the Rowing Club in aid of his charity of year, the Ross-on-Wye Community Development Trust, and hopes the celebration will raise a significant amount for this important local charity.
The Mayor said: “Each year the Mayor holds a charity event and when I realised the Coronation would be taking place on what could very well be my final week as Mayor I thought a Ball was an ideal way to celebrate while raising money. The Rowing Club have been fantastic helping us out and we think it’s the perfect location. To put minds at rest it won’t be overly formal, we just hope people will come along and have a good time. Ermine and tiaras are entirely optional!’
He added: “I must also thank some local companies who have agreed to sponsor the evening including Rehau, Morrisons and A J Lowther and sons. I know other companies are also looking into helping us out and we hope to be able to add more sponsors to this list over the coming weeks.”
The event will include a complimentary prosecco reception upon arrival as well as a fork buffet and entertainment throughout the evening. There are only a limited number of tickets available so book early to avoid disappointment!
Tickets are priced at £40 and can be purchased via https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/whats-on/herefordshire/ross-on-wye-rowing-club/coronation-ball/e-edrxxl for a small additional booking fee. Tickets can also be purchased from the Town Council offices with payment via cash, BACs or cheque accepted.
