A40 Huntley village – full overnight closures for road resurfacing works

Road closed and diversion sign

National Highways will shortly be carrying out essential resurfacing works on the A40 through Huntley from the evening of Monday 17th July and finish on the morning of Thursday 27th July and will take place overnight between the hours of 8pm and 6am.

To minimise disruption, they will be working on weeknights only when there are fewer vehicles on the road. During the day the road will be open as usual. They will be resurfacing the A40 between west of the A4136 junction, to approximately 800 meters east of A4136 junction (The Fairways) with new low noise surfacing.

The work is currently programmed as follows:

  • Monday 17 to Thursday 27 July full overnight closures for 8 nights from 8pm until 6am the following morning.

There will be a fully signed diversion route in place during the full overnight closures but please allow extra time for your journey. You can view the diversion here and just look for ‘A40 Huntley resurfacing’.

Access for residents will be maintained but may involve a short delay depending on the stage of work.  Please speak to the gatemen who will escort you through the works if necessary.

Please monitor www.trafficengland.com to keep updated of any changes.
