7/6/21: Bands in the Park return to Ross
7 June 2021

**UPDATE** In the light of the recent announcement regarding the continuation of lockdown measures until 19 July, we are disappointed to announce that the first three Bands in the Park sessions will not be taking place as planned. Our first concert in the series will now start on Sunday 25 July once restrictions have eased. We look forward to seeing you then.
Ross-on-Wye’s Bands in the Park is back for a new summer series, starting on Sunday 4 July with the Monmouth Boys School Band followed by the Lydney Training Band. The free concerts start at 2.30pm and end at 4.30pm so BYOB ie Bring Your Own Blanket (or beverage / bite to eat / best friends…) and head down to the Caroline Symonds Gardens for a relaxing afternoon of summer entertainment.
Starting and finishing later this year due to the pandemic, the concerts will host an impressive lineup of 15 bands over two months, from the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and further afield which will take us up to the end of September. There will be a selection of catering units onsite including Kelsmor Dairy Icecream.
A larger ‘Proms in the Park’ will take place on 5 September starting at 1pm with Chepstow Community Big Band, the Chepstow Community Gospel Choir and Ebbw Valley Brass, a huge favourite from our 2019 event.
Members of the public arriving by car are advised to park in the Wilton Road carpark (free on Sundays) which has easy pedestrian access to Caroline Symonds Gardens through the tunnels. Parking on the adjacent grass next to the Bandstand is reserved for stall holders and conductors only. Dogs on leads are welcome to join in the fun.
All events will be covid-safe with hand sanitiser available and social distancing where needed. There will also be charity collection buckets so please bring a little change and support them if you can.
