2026 Ross-on-Wye Carnival Royalty has been Chosen

The countdown is on, with Ross Carnival returning on Saturday the 1st August. Recently, you were asked to nominate who you thought should be the 2026 Carnival Prince and Princess. The Carnival’s sponsors – Domino’s, JEH Laundry Services, Rehau and Dawley’s – were tasked with the difficult challenge of picking the winner from your nominations and we are happy to announce that 9-year-old, Mia Hall, has been selected as the 2026 Carnival Princess.
Mia’s mother, Katie, says “Mia is absolutely over the moon and super excited to be picked for 2026 Carnival Princess, it has been a dream of Mia’s for a long time.”. Mia will lead the Carnival parade alongside the 2026/27 Mayor and Deputy Mayor, Cllr Sarah Freer and Cllr Julian Utting. She will then assist the Town Mayor and Deputy Mayor to judge the parade categories.
If you fancy joining the parade with your family, group or club, entry is still possible. A short form is available to download here. The parade route will be an approximately 1.5km walk from Station Approach, past the Market House, to the Rope Walk. Grants of up to £100 are available to help groups create costumes and decorate non-motorised vehicles such as bicycles, roller skates, skateboards, push scooters and wheelchairs.
No need to wait until 1pm for the fun, as the Rope Walk will be packed with live music, a dog show, food vendors, a funfair and more from 11am.
