Each year, the Mayor chooses a charity to support during his or her term of office. He or she is involved in fundraising and awareness events for the charity including the annual Mayor’s Ball which is usually held in March.
Councillor Ravenscroft has chosen the Soldiers, Sailors and Airmen's Families Association SSAFA as his charity for the year 2011/12.
