Caroline Utting moved to Ross in 2000 with her husband and two daughters. Originally from Bedfordshire she grew up close to a market town much like Ross where her father ran the family floristry and garden centre business. Her background is in art and art history and she currently runs the Ross Botanical Art Group which exhibits regularly. Her love of Ross led her to become involved in the Ross Town Plan, becoming secretary to the group, and the Association of Ross Traders for which she also acts as secretary. Caroline says that small market towns like Ross have to fight to survive in a modern world of internet shopping and huge shopping centres, but Ross has something unique to sell; its warm, friendly atmosphere, beautiful historic setting and many independent retailers that visitors love. She intends to continue working to promote Ross and develop its potential.
